Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026
This policy explains what Project Panoply LLC collects when you use Armor of God, why we collect it, and what happens to it.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. That is all we ask for when you register. We do not collect your name, phone number, address, date of birth, or payment details.
Your answers during setup. When you first set up the app we ask a short series of questions so we can tailor your experience. These include whether you consider yourself a believer, how you would describe your current emotional state, and what you would like to focus on. We store your answers.
Some of this is sensitive. Your answer about faith is information about religious belief, and your answers about emotional state may indicate how you are feeling. We use it only to personalise what the app shows you. We do not sell it, share it, or use it for advertising.
Your memorization activity. Which passages you have chosen, what stage each has reached, when each is next due for review, and your history of practice attempts. Each attempt records your accuracy and which words you did not recall correctly. We keep this history for as long as your account exists, because it is what the app uses to decide when to bring a verse back and which words to highlight.
Your settings. Your practice preferences, including your daily target, accuracy thresholds, review interval, and whether you have set a daily reminder and for what time.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or camera. We do not use advertising identifiers. We do not track you across other apps or websites. There are no analytics or advertising services in the app.
The microphone
If you choose to practise by speaking, the app listens while you recite and scores what you say.
Depending on your device, the speech recognition may happen entirely on your phone or may be sent to Apple or Google for processing. Which one depends on your hardware and settings, and is not something the app controls. Their handling of that audio is covered by their own privacy policies.
We never receive, store, or have access to any audio. Only your score and the words you missed are sent to us.
Who else receives data
Fly.io hosts our servers and database. All app data passes through and is stored on their infrastructure.
Expo provides our app update service. The app contacts Expo each time it launches to check for updates, which tells them your IP address, device platform, and app version. This happens automatically as part of how the app is built.
Apple and Google may receive speech audio as described above, and provide the voice used when the app reads a verse aloud.
We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
When you delete your account we remove your email and password, your setup answers, every passage you have saved, your entire practice and recall history, your settings, and your sessions. There is no recovery period and we cannot restore a deleted account.
Copies may remain in our hosting provider's routine backups for a short period before those backups are cycled out.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. You can delete your account yourself in the app. For anything else, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top.
